Reading is Fun(ny)

I finished Tina Fey's Bossypants last night. I loved it. It made me want to be funnier and more clever than I currently am, which is a quality I greatly admire in books and in people. I'm already looking forward to Mindy Kaling's book even though it isn't out until November. Apparently, it's my goal to read all books written by women who star in Thursday night sitcoms on NBC. What are you reading these days?

  3. So funny, I took some 'me' time and went to Target last night and found so many books that I want to read, including Bossypants. I was going to post about all of them this weekend. Sadly, I HAVE to finish this semester (and boring textbook readings) before I can read for fun. Ugh.

  4. I follow Mindy on Twitter and she is fabulous. Tina Fey is the most amazing comedian and able to make anything funny while also being humble. I love that about her.

  6. I have Bossypants on hold at the library, but it might be a while before I actually get my hands on it.

I'm currently reading "Lunch in Paris," by Elizabeth Bard, which is an excellent memoir about an American who went to school in London and fell in love with a Frenchman and their adventures...

Also, my next book club book is by the Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond), called "From High Heels to Tractor Wheels," also supposed to be good.

  7. I SO want to read Mindy Kaling's new book. I just finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being, which I loved, and Twenties Girl (by Sophie Kinsella, author of Confessions of a Shopaholic), which was a light, fun read. Right now, I'm trying to resist the urge to go to the library and take out more books -- I really need to get some work done this weekend!

  9. I'll have to check those out! My favorite funny guy author is David Sedaris. I can't read and eat/drink with his books because I continually spit food out because I get to laughing so hard.

  12. Sadly, I am reading nothing. I took 'Air Conditioned Nightmare' on my recent road trip, but used the book to press wildflowers rather than reading any of it.
