I Bought It, I Like It: Diaper Bag

When I was choosing a diaper bag, I wanted to keep things simple, sophisticated and make sure I picked something my husband wouldn't be embarrassed to carry. I ended up going with this faux leather option by Canadian brand Matt & Nat, and I've been so happy with it. You can carry it by the handles or the strap, and there are internal dividers and zippers to keep things organized. I especially love the accessibility of the outside pockets for my phone and keys. It meets all my mama pack rat needs, but it's stylish enough that I can see myself using it beyond the baby stage. The tan shade mine came in is no longer available, but Land of Nod is releasing the same style bag in black, navy, clay and natural later this month.

I Bought It, I Like It: Ankle Boots

I bought these Madewell ankle boots in the fall and meant to tell you how much I liked them, but then the snow boot-wearing started and didn't stop. Thanks to our warmer weather over the weekend, I got to bust them out again, so here you are. I searched high and low for ankle boots (thanks for all the free shipping and returns, Zappos!) and nothing was working. Every pair I tried had too large an opening around the ankle or the heels were too high or they were made from cheap leather, so I finally decided to invest in this pair from Madewell, and I'm glad I did. They're classic, comfortable, come in the loveliest shade of brown called pecan and are perfect for transitioning out of this cold weather.

I Bought It, I Like It: Infinity Scarf

I bought this infinity scarf early in the summer, but it's only been in the last few weeks that I really put it to use. It's a perfect light layer to throw on as we transition out of these summer temps, and it's multi-colored and multi-patterned, making a t-shirt and jeans a little less basic. The plaid version is calling my name now that it's officially fall.

I Bought It, I Like It: Gourmet Sugar

I've been a fan of Chambre de Sucre for a while now, so when their latest gourmet sugars caught my eye, I decided to order some. The Mori sugar set contains a variety of colors and shapes -- hearts, flowers, birds, lemons. They're like Lucky Charms with sophistication. The taste is pure sugar, but the look adds a little friendliness to your countertop and is cute enough for a tea party. I think they'd make a great hostess gift.

I Bought It, I Like It: Polka Dot Tote

I could live out the rest of my days in just stripes and polka dots and be happy, which is why this tote bag from Portland-based designer Anna Joyce immediately appealed to me. I love the leather handles and the way those charcoal-colored dots are scattered across the canvas. It's handmade, high quality and just the right size. You can find it here or on my shoulder for the rest of the summer.

I Bought It, I Like It: Miracle Detangler

I admit it, I get tangles in my hair ... bad ones. I have since I was a little kid, and I'm sure the New York wind that tunnels around the skyscrapers doesn't help matters, or the fact that I get really lazy with the brush before bedtime.

After reading some reviews, I ordered a bottle of Original Sprout Miracle Detangler a couple of months ago, and it has made me so very happy. I spray it on my wet hair after I get out of the shower and, like magic, running a comb through my hair becomes ridiculously easy. It's moisturizing and de-frizzing. Plus, the spray is natural, organic and smells so lovely thanks to lavender and rosemary. Original Sprout makes tons of hair and skin products, so I'm eager to give some others a try. I just wish this stuff had been around when I was a wimpy, tender-headed little kid.

I Bought It, I Like It: BKR Bottle

I was really happy when my bkr bottle arrived in the mail. Like so happy that Jonah said, "I've never seen anyone so excited about a water bottle, you weirdo." It's a glass bottle in a silicone sleeve, and there are lots of color options (mine's called crush). It's BPA-free, dishwasher safe and totally adorable. I think water really tastes best when drunk from a glass, and the durable silicone sleeve keeps your precious bottle safe. If something should happen in the first 90 days after purchase, bkr will send you a new bottle for free! I'm pretty much in love with mine so far, and it's helping me with my goal to drink more water.

I blog about shopping a lot, but this new series will highlight items I've purchased with my own money that I think you would like too.
