Apron Addiction
How many aprons could a person possibly need? Maybe two? Still, every time I walk in Anthropologie, I'm inexplicably drawn to them, the cute prints, the bright colors. Then, I remind myself that I hardly ever wear the aprons I own and back away slowly.

Easter Weekend
It was a gorgeous weekend in New York spent with my husband and his parents, full of sunshine, flowers in bloom and yummy things to eat. We had several meals out, including a perfect Sunday brunch at Cookshop. The highlight for me was a mini loaf of chocolate babka, tasty and adorable. I really can't remember a more beautiful Easter day, surrounded by reminders of God's renewal.

Easter Goodness
Any big weekend plans? My in-laws arrive in town later today. We'll celebrate Easter, enjoy some meals out, walk around the city, and I will eat these cute shortbread cookies I picked up at Bouchon Bakery. Have a beautiful, blessed weekend! Here's a little church music for ya.

Cute Egg Cups
In other egg news, I've always thought egg cups were adorable, but I could never justify buying one since I don't eat a lot of soft-boiled eggs, really none ever. Maybe I can come up with some other egg cup uses. A button holder? A drinking glass for a doll? I got nothin'.

Ombre Eggs by the Dozen
I decided not to give up on my dirty dozen eggs, so I ran to the drugstore, bought a package of PAAS egg dye, the old stand-by, and proceeded to color my eggs, after wiping off the beet juice, of course. I wanted the eggs to be varying shades of the same color, a sort of ombre effect when you look at all of them. To achieve the different shades, I just kept the eggs submerged in teal dye for varying lengths of time. For the darkest eggs, I dyed them blue first, let them dry then dyed them teal.
After the false start, I'm really happy with how they turned out. It was tempting to use all those colorful tablets to get a rainbow assortment, but I love the monochromatic look of these when they're all nestled together. It brought a little sophistication to my otherwise basic dye job, not to mention better and brighter results than my sad little beet eggs.
