Going Back in the Day

One of my favorite places to stop by while I'm in Savannah is Back in the Day Bakery. All charming and retro, a case full of carbohydrates, it's my real life happy place. You know it's something special when marshmallows are hanging from the ceiling. Back in the Day wasn't a part of my growing up in Savannah, in fact, the bakery opened the very month I left for college, but all those nostalgia-infused sweets make it taste like home. Thankfully, they have a fantastic cookbook, which is good since monthly shipments of Mexican hot chocolate shortbread, red velvet cupcakes and doughnut muffins would start to add up.

  3. I went to Savannah for the first time a few years ago and I LOVE it! I have seen the owner of this bakery on Paula Deen's show, so I will definitely put it on my list of places to visit the next time I go! Great photos!
