I finished Tina Fey's
Bossypants last night. I loved it. It made me want to be funnier and more clever than I currently am, which is a quality I greatly admire in books and in people. I'm already looking forward to Mindy Kaling's book even though it isn't out until November. Apparently, it's my goal to read all books written by women who star in Thursday night sitcoms on NBC. What are you reading these days?
I just got Tina Fey's book and Im so happy that you liked it. Im planning to start reading it this weekend. Btw: Im so excited about Mindy Kaling's book too:) Yay!! Have a lovely weekend, my dear
ReplyDeleteNothing fun--haha--but plan on picking up Tina Fey's book soon! Can't wait! I have however, read all of Chelsea Handler's books---she is super funny too.
ReplyDeleteSo funny, I took some 'me' time and went to Target last night and found so many books that I want to read, including Bossypants. I was going to post about all of them this weekend. Sadly, I HAVE to finish this semester (and boring textbook readings) before I can read for fun. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI follow Mindy on Twitter and she is fabulous. Tina Fey is the most amazing comedian and able to make anything funny while also being humble. I love that about her.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read both of these books! Once summer comes around they are at the top of the list, they are both so hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI have Bossypants on hold at the library, but it might be a while before I actually get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading "Lunch in Paris," by Elizabeth Bard, which is an excellent memoir about an American who went to school in London and fell in love with a Frenchman and their adventures...
Also, my next book club book is by the Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond), called "From High Heels to Tractor Wheels," also supposed to be good.
I SO want to read Mindy Kaling's new book. I just finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being, which I loved, and Twenties Girl (by Sophie Kinsella, author of Confessions of a Shopaholic), which was a light, fun read. Right now, I'm trying to resist the urge to go to the library and take out more books -- I really need to get some work done this weekend!
ReplyDeletei really want to read both these books...i've heard chelsea handler's are hysterical too. add it to my reading list! so many books, so little time!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check those out! My favorite funny guy author is David Sedaris. I can't read and eat/drink with his books because I continually spit food out because I get to laughing so hard.
ReplyDeleteOk, I've really been wanting to read Tina's book - everything she has to say I love - why not read an entire book by her? And this is the first time I'd heard about Mindy Kaling's book, but I absolutely LOVE her..can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI really need to read Tina Fey's book! I heard it's hilarious! xo
ReplyDeleteSadly, I am reading nothing. I took 'Air Conditioned Nightmare' on my recent road trip, but used the book to press wildflowers rather than reading any of it.
ReplyDeleteooh i'm glad to hear tina fey's book was great - it's on my reading list. i just finished "the immortal life of henrietta lacks" which was absolutely fascinating. i def recommend it!
ReplyDeleteTotally adding both of those to my reading list for Greece!
ReplyDeleteoh how i want to read both of those books! i think bossypants will be one of my summer beach reads and i can't wait for mindy kaling's book to come out. she's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAw cool! I didn't even know about these books. I love both of them. :) Thanks! <3
ReplyDeleteI just finished, A Discovery of Witches, and really did enjoy it. I have been wanting to read Tina Fey's new book, so I am even more motivated now.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read both of these. I think my husband has a crush on Tina Fey, and I totally understand and am ok with that.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read it too! I definitely need to work on my funny... I'm sure she'll inspire me : )
ReplyDeletexo
mindy is the funniest person on earth. love love love her
ReplyDeleteGrapes of Wrath. It's kind of slow and long. And these two reads look much more fun and festive.
ReplyDeletep.s. Does Amy Poehler have a book??
I can't wait to read this book!
ReplyDeletei've heard so many good things about bossy pants. it's officially on my "to read" list :). thanks for the recommendation!
