Pretend Party: Father's Day BBQ

How about spending a Sunday afternoon with family enjoying some barbecued ribs and all the tasty sides that go along with them? And because dad deserves the best: cookie ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Now that's how you make a guy feel special.

I've always loved a good tea party (all those tasty carbs), so I think it's the perfect way to celebrate the ladies in your life -- girly, nostalgic and involving multiple desserts.

Pretend Party: Easter Lunch

After singing some of my favorite classic hymns at church ("He liiiives within my heart!"), there's nothing I like more than gathering around the table for a spring-inspired lunch, involving lots of items of the egg-variety and a few sweets. Here's some Easter inspiration for your table if you're on the hunt.

Pretend Party: Winter Warmth

My favorite thing about winter is that it encourages cozy nights at home with comfort food, mugs full of cocoa and board games while the fireplace or TV yule log is aglow. That's a perfect night to me.

Pretend Party: Thanksgiving Dinner

I'm not hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year, but if I were (and if I could justify purchasing a gravy boat), it would hopefully look a little something like this. Mini marshmallow-covered sweet potatoes not pictured.

Pretend Party: Fall Picnic

Picnics and fall go together like me and maple candy. Here's a little inspiration should you decide to pack up a picnic basket and lay your blanket over the crunchy leaves.

Pretend Party: Peach Perfect

A peach-themed party would be great for a birthday, a baby shower, a farewell to summer or a way to celebrate your favorite Georgian. You get a lovely, warm color palette, sweet and savory menu possibilities, and little jars of peachy goodness would make a perfect party favor.

Pretend Party: Ice Cream Tasting

ice cream party

I'm not planning on throwing an ice cream tasting party this summer, but if I were, it would look a little something like this. All you need are some tasty toppings, cute utensils and an assortment of your favorite ice creams, bought or homemade. (Chocolate chocolate chunk not pictured.)

[found here: ice cream cone holder; Coop's hot fudge; maraschino cherries; whipped cream dispenser; cups; chocolate sprinkles; wooden spoons; Fran's caramel sauce; ice cream scoop; ice cream cone garland]
