Good Eats at Husk

While in Charleston, my family and I enjoyed lunch at the recently opened Husk Restaurant. The focus is on locally-grown, seasonal ingredients. They even practice my new favorite restaurant trend of listing where all the ingredients come from. The feel of the food and the space is comforting and friendly, but innovative and interesting.

Our meal was delicious. The menu changes on a daily basis, but the highlights on this particular day were the ham tasting (is that genius or what?), the roasted brussels sprouts, the tenderest of oxtails, the surprisingly delicious potatoes accompanying my beef brisket sandwich, the pie in a jar, and the authentic oatmeal cream pie (take that Little Debbie).
