Milk and Sugar

Remember the episode of Seinfeld where George says he would drape himself in velvet if it were socially acceptable? Well, that's how I feel about seersucker. I love this summery blazer with its sweet lace trim. Now I just need the warm weather.

Random fact: the word "seersucker" originates from the Persian words "shir o shekar" which mean "milk and sugar." I like it even more. Thanks, Wikipedia!

  4. I love the background! However, I think I'm going to tell my boyfriend it translates as "Strong and Manly." I'm dying to see him in a seersucker suit...

  10. But wait, is seersucker not socially acceptable? :)
Um, yes. Couldn't agree more. I have a great pair of seersucker shorts but I would love to acquire more - perhaps in an uber preppy jacket or a sun dress.

  14. Too cute! Seersucker is the classic fabric isn't it? When we were picking my husband's wedding attire (we had a tiny southern-preppy-island wedding), he was debating between seersucker and madras pants. He ended up going for madras, but I'm still going to have to buy him some seersucker pants.

Thanks for visiting my blog, can't wait to read more of yours! :)
