Long Weekend in Photos

It was hot and humid in New York with some thunderstorms thrown in, so I plodded around all weekend in flats and sundresses. We paid a visit to Pok Pok in Brooklyn. We've been to their chicken wing-only location on the Lower East Side, but it was nice to experience the restaurant's full menu like we did in Portland last summer, and I have a growing obsession with their drinking vinegars. It's like an Italian soda but slightly tart. The rest of the long weekend was spent sunning on the roof, enjoying a melty chocolate chip cookie, cooling off at the movies, eating burgers and attempting an orange sherbet recipe...results yet to be determined. How'd you spend the weekend?

  2. sounds so much more relaxing than my weekend!! ...but i guess it's a good thing that people want to visit us (and visit NYC too :P) we went to the newly-opened "sage" restaurant in brooklyn (our friends own it!), explored lower manhattan with family, and went to the beach (and scored a PAINFUL sunburn while i was at it!!)

  4. That cookie looks ridiculous. The first part of my weekend was spent at the beach--the second part--bracing for beryl. We did however just get a good bit of rain (still raining) and some wind. All in all--great weekend.

  13. Looks delicious! I did my fair share of eating this weekend, too - the highlight was a GIANT slice of cake at Amy's Bread on Sunday afternoon. Definitely brightened that rainy day :)
