Guest Post: I Heart Vancouver

PineCone Camp is a blog that I discovered recently, but has quickly become one of my favorites. I think of Janis as a "capturer of prettiness." Her photography is incredible -- just click on the below images to see them in all their glory -- and I can always count on her Baked on Monday series to invoke hunger pangs.

Janis here, from PineCone Camp. The lovely Natalie asked if I could do a guest post about why I love my city, so here it is, my love letter to Vancouver.

Vancouver is known for it's natural beauty and rain (movie set style rain at times!) but there is so much more to this vibrant city. Located on the west coast of British Columbia, and just 2 hours north of Seattle, it's a city that has something for everyone. What I really love about Vancouver, is that within a 15 minute drive you can be at a beautiful beach, Chinatown, Gastown or shopping on Main Street. Here are a few of my favourite spots.

Chinatown is right in the heart of the city. It's undergoing a bit of a face lift these days, so there is now even more reasons to visit this fantastic neighbourhood. Great restaurants, bakeries and shops and the beautiful Dr. Sun Yat Sen garden.

Locarno, Kits and Spanish Banks beaches. Take a picnic with you and just lounge and stare at the North Shore mountains and the city skyline.

Gastown is is near the cruise ship terminal, so it can have a touristy feel to parts of it, but is well worth checking out. It's home to some of Vancouver's best shops, restaurants and bars.

I really could go on about my city, but I'll wrap it up now. Feel free to contact me, at PineCone Camp if you'd like a list of some fab restaurants, and shops! xo
